![]() ![]() After a slow start, LMU hit its stride with a school-record nine-match winning streak that started with a single-game record 9-0 win over Lamar University. The Lions went 12-6-1 overall, tying for third in the conference with a 4-3-0 mark in WCC play. In addition to the record number of players recognized by the conference office, LMU as a team had a record-breaking 2007 season under first-year head coach Joe Mallia. She added two goals for 10 total points, tying for third on the LMU squad. Sorentino came on strong in the second half of her rookie season, leading the Lions with six assists to rank in a tie for fourth in the conference. ![]() Rounding out the LMU honorees was freshman Lily Sorentino, who was named to both the Honorable Mention and All-Freshman Teams. She closed out her career tied for 10th on the LMU career goals list with 12 and seventh on the total points list with 39. She was among the league-leaders in goals (tied for ninth) and game-winning goals (2, tied for 10th) while earning WCC Player of the Week honors for October 8. Osborne paired up with Bell to form a dynamic attacking duo for the Lions, finishing with career-highs of five goals and 12 points. On the heels of an outstanding senior campaign, Katie Osborne gained her first conference award. Despite battling injuries, Feeney still started 13 of her 14 games in defense, helping the Lions to solidify one of the best back lines in the conference. Sophomore Kim Feeney earned a place on the Honorable Mention list for the second straight year and was also an All-Freshman Team member last season. Redshirt junior Stefanie Baduria gained her first conference award after scoring a goal with two assists in 17 games. Harrison was second among outfield players with 1434 minutes played and scored one goal with one assist for three points.įour LMU players featured on the Honorable Mention team. After earning All-Freshman Team honors last season, Harrison was solid in the middle of the park for the Lions, starting 18 of the 19 games and helping the defense to allow just 0.77 goals per game. Sophomore Tiffany Harrison was the lone LMU representative on the Second Team. The WCC Player of the Week for September 24, Bell ran her career numbers to 16 goals (tied for fourth all-time at LMU) and 41 points (tied for fifth). Six of her eight goals either gave LMU the lead or tied the match. The senior tied for second in the conference in goals and game-winning goals (four), and was fifth in points. Jamie Bell was a Second Team selection in 2006 and followed that up with a career year, leading the Lions with eight goals and 19 points to gain her second All-WCC recognition. ![]() Slovek won her second career WCC Player of the Week award earlier in the season for the week ending October 1. Slovek finished her career as LMU's all-time leader in minutes played (5963) and was second in GAA (0.89), saves (267), and shutouts (28.5). The 2006 WCC Defender of the Year, her goals-against-average of 0.72 was the second-lowest of her career and ranked her fifth in the WCC. Goalkeeper Joslyn Slovek earned her second successive First Team All-WCC honor after leading the conference with 10 shutouts. LMU placed two players on the First Team, one on the Second, and four more earning Honorable Mention status.Ī pair of seniors led the charge as LMU gained two first team honorees for the first time in school history.
